Paul’s journey with photography started the “opposite” of most photographers, he says. Before he ever got behind the lens, he first developed an interest in graphic design and editing. “I mastered different photo editing tools like Photoshop and Lightroom, and then getting behind the lens came as a necessity to complement my future work.”

When asked about his approach to shooting: “I work with multi-layer images, so I’m always searching for many different elements to layer together to create a final shot. I seek out bright lighting, contrast shadows, symmetry, soft colors, and vintage architecture.”

His advice for aspiring photographers: “Tell a story with your photos. It's not all about taking photos of glamorous places. But telling a story takes patience, and waiting for the right conditions can takes hours. I usually visit a location first to familiarize myself with it and come back later to shoot when it’s less crowded.”

In Paul’s go-to camera bag you’ll find Hasselblad X1D II and Nikon D850 cameras, 24-70mm and 35-75mm lenses, memory cards, and a Manfrotto 055 Tripod.
